More power and more savings. All Recharge Plug-In Hybrids are eligible for up to a $5,419 federal tax credit and the XC40 Recharge Fully Electric is eligible for up to a $7,500 federal tax credit. The U.S. federal tax credit applies to all new vehicle transactions and can be used in combination with all additional state and local incentives.

Pasadena
Pasadena Department of Water and Power offers residents up to $600 in rebates for installing a Wifi enabled EV charger in their home.

Anaheim
The Anaheim Public Utilities PEV Charger Rebate Program offers a rebate of up to $500 to customers that install a ChargePoint Home at their residence. In addition to the rebate, the City’s permit fees related to the installation of the EV charger will be waived. Rebate applications will be accepted subject to availability of funds.
Federal Home Charging Incentives
This credit is retroactive through 2018, so if you previously purchased a charger, you can claim the credit. This will require filing an amended return for your 2018 or 2019 taxes. We suggest enlisting a tax professional to help with an amended return.

Get automatic charging reminders on the road when your battery hits 20%. You can also get reminders when you don’t plug in at saved charging locations via the Volvo Cars app.
Select a charging station and your car will heat or cool the battery to the optimal temperature for fast charging. You don’t have to do anything. Battery pre-conditioning is automatic when your car has a 20 % charge or more.
Our commitment to safety extends to electric car batteries. That is why we develop and produce the battery packs and systems used in our range of fully electric cars. Using Battery Management Systems, we also monitor and regulate how batteries function during normal operation.

Volvo Car electric vehicles will soon support the North American Charging Standard, enabling access to Tesla’s Supercharger network (anticipated to begin in 2024). This will complement the wide access of fast chargers currently available via the CCS (Combined Charging System) network available today. With this move, Volvo Cars continues to improve the electric vehicle experience for our consumers by unlocking access to an additional 12,000 – and growing – public fast charging stations nationwide.

Charging times depend on a few factors, including the charging equipment you use, the battery’s initial charge level, and the level you’re after.
We recommend keeping your battery charged above 20% and only charging up to 90%. This can help reduce charging times (0 to 10% and 90 to 100% take the longest) and help protect the battery health.

When you buy a new fully electric Volvo car, your battery is covered by a warranty for eight years or 100,000 miles, whichever occurs first, providing that the car and battery are maintained and operated according to the recommendations of Volvo Cars.
Over the lifetime of a vehicle, the carbon footprint of a battery electric vehicle (BEV) is less than a traditional internal combustion engine vehicle (ICE). However, the distance needed to be driven for a BEV to become less carbon intensive than an ICE vehicle is largely dependent on how the electricity that powers the vehicle is generated. If you charge your BEV with renewable electricity, you will need to drive less for that point to be reached, compared with if you use electricity generated from fossil fuels. We encourage you to power your electric vehicle with electricity from renewable sources.
